Exceeding in quality care & education

Little Learners Early Childhood Centre opened its doors to the Camberwell and surrounding communities in February 2010. Established from a keen desire to “raise the bar” in early childhood, the team at Little Learners have worked tirelessly to build a facility that provides exceptional quality care and education. These efforts are reflected in our current rating of “exceeding” the National Quality Standard, as assessed by the National Early Childhood governing body of ACECQA (Australian Children’s Education and Care Quality Authority).

Little Learners provides both care and education within a long day care environment and caters for the littlest of learners in the Nursery through to the 4 Year Old Kindergarten group who develop their school readiness skills under the supportive wing of our Early Childhood Teacher. As a ‘feeder’ to many of the local primary schools, our educators attend regular local networking meetings to ensure continuity and care across all streams of education. Our educational programs are underpinned by the Reggio Emilia approach to learning and are informed by both the Victorian and National Early Years Learning frameworks.

Our team of early childhood educators come with the appropriate skills, qualifications and experience that you would expect from an 'exceeding' service, ensuring your child is supported in their learning and personal needs. Our educators participate in regular professional development, mentoring and first aid training to ensure they remain at the top of their profession.

Our beautiful facilities, located in a charming old Victorian building provide ornate ceilings and light filled rooms that facilitate a homely atmosphere and encourage 'identity' and 'wellbeing' amongst our Little Learners community. Our playgrounds are leafy, abundant and provide numerous learning opportunities for the children. Individual temperature control in each room ensures maximum comfort, regardless of the weather outside.

Our much loved centre pets, Honey and Goldie (guinea pigs) and Peri Peri and Arooster (chickens) are always the centre of attention, providing the children with a sense of responsibility and ownership as they participate in their upkeep.

Our doors are open Monday to Friday, from 7.00am to 6.00pm, with all meals provided onsite and cooked fresh daily. Our four weekly rotating menu provides healthy variety and will satisfy the fussiest of eaters. Our long standing cook also ensures that dietary restrictions are respected and adhered to.
